As a 91³Ô¹Ï student, you play a major role in your own educational path, but you are not expected to do it alone. Our academic advisors, peer advisors, and other resources expertly guide students through their decisions, helping them discover what is uniquely best for them.

Advising Partners Through the Years

The relationship between student and academic advisor is crucial at 91³Ô¹Ï. Academic advising, carried out by 91³Ô¹Ï faculty members, is the primary advice you’ll receive. During your first two years, you will be assigned an academic advisor that specializes in liberal arts advising. You will explore the breadth of the curriculum and experience new areas of thought guided on an academic path that will fulfill the pre-major requirements in areas you are considering as a major, while also exploring new disciplines you may not have considered.

As an upperclassman, your next two years will be guided by a faculty advisor expert within your declared major. This advisor will work with you in understanding and achieving the major requirements for graduation, and help you plan and navigate your future after 91³Ô¹Ï.

Advising from Qualified Peers

Academic Peer Advisors are another tool in 91³Ô¹Ï’s advising toolbox. These are 91³Ô¹Ï students by your side that also help guide and assist you through your educational journey. Peer Advisors meet individually with students to assist and answer questions related to course registration and academic resources.

They can also help you with technology, help you develop time management and study skills, help you create exam preparation strategies, and provide academic resources and referrals as needed. They’ve been where you are, and now they are here to help you.

Support Beyond Advising

In addition to traditional academic advising, 91³Ô¹Ï offers a network of support designed to help meet the varied needs of students in a residential college environment.
